Casual Classics, a DK brochure of 12 Women’s designs featuring essential, smart holiday wear knits for spring/summer 2010 and more complicated, ‘Martin Storey’ signature cable designs. A clapboard, New England-Cape Cod inspired interior on the Kent coast, provides the backdrop and theme for this brochure. Simple stocking stitch designs & traditional cable techniques have been re-worked into more contemporary shapes & textures that are based on marine motifs and nautical twisted ropes.

Designs featured include Stamford, a one button fashionable crop waistcoat. Maine, a deep v-neck, long line ‘slouchy’ sweater with pockets and in an intricate rope cable texture. Vermont, this seasons long, semi-fitted waistcoat in a bold diamond and garter stitch texture. New Haven Throw & Cushions, both worked in a patchwork of anchor & diamond motifs. For spring/summer 2010, a ‘seaside chic’ colour palette flows throughout the brochure – from raw, natural beach-pebble tones through to sand, marine blue & aquatic tones.
